A Smarter Alternative to the West Davis Corridor

The Shared Solution is a smarter way to move traffic. It creates ways to maximize and enhance existing roads and mass transit, and moves the same amount of traffic as the proposed new West Davis Corridor (WDC) freeway—possibly even more. The Shared Solution is NOT a no-build alternative. Instead, the Shared Solution proposes smart alternatives like redesigning intersections to increase traffic flow, improving east-west arterial roads to become efficient boulevards, building a middle lane along I-15 that serves southbound traffic in the morning and northbound traffic in the evenings, etc. These smarter ideas will impact fewer homes, enhance economic vitality of our communities, keep our precious environmental resources intact, and help reduce CO2 emissions. The Shared Solution helps preserve our quality of life, not diminish it as with an unnecessary freeway.

What does the Shared Solution look like?

The youtube video clip above shows how the Shared Solution would look and operate if implemented on Antelope Drive in Layton, Utah, or Syracuse, Utah. It is easy to see that the Shared Solution is better, and more community friendly than WDC freeway.
